Hi, this is the first posting on the Heron blogsite. The idea is to carry on the legacy of Grandad Heron and reproduce his family newsletter. Anyone can add their news. I think it would be good if we put our original Heron parent's name at the top of any posting so we know who's who. Particularly as there are more and more grandchildren coming along! So, to start, I am Prue Heron (have retained my maiden name), daughter of Tony Heron (and Helen, my Mum), I have a sister, Catherine. Sadly, Adrian, our brother died when he was 40 in 1977. Both our parents have died.
Adrian had 2 children (Elizabeth and Magnus) and Catherine has 2 children (Rachel and Abigail).
Lizzie has one daughter - Bryony, 13 and Rachel has 2 children, Isaac and Martha.
And that's us for the moment. Looking forward to hearing about everyone else. My ultimate aim is a website where we can all post messages but this will do for a start.
You can upload photos too. I will be pleased to help (if I can) or hear from anyone else who susses out anything else this site can do.

Well, I am still learning and the only photo here that's of interest to Herons is the second down on the right which is my Mum (Helen, wife of Tony), holding baby Edmund, with Joan Heron in the middle, my brother Adrian Heron on the right at the back. I'm bottom left and my sister, Catherine is at the front next to me with Joan's son, Carol just peeking out from behind. This photo was taken in the garden of our house in Horsham, Sussex in about 1957.
